Who we are
Started in a [spare bedroom in 2019]. Still run by [two people].
Demo Shop began when [Mara] couldn't find everyday goods that were both well-made and honestly priced. So she started sourcing them herself — first for friends, then for anyone who wanted to buy in. [Her partner, Cal], joined a year later to handle fulfilment and the website. We still pack every order ourselves.

How we choose
Every maker meets a short, blunt checklist.
Can we visit their workshop? Are the materials what they say they are? Is the price fair to the person making it? We turn down about [two in three] pitches — not because we're precious, but because the checklist is the whole business model. Fewer, better things.
